GriefShare comes to the Parish of Kent

GriefShare comes to the Parish of Kent

Offering some sort of grief support has always been on Chris Ketch’s mind.

But as is often the case, the incumbent in the Parish of Kent found many other needs took precedence.

“Grief support was a need I identified fairly early on in my time here,” said Chris. “But other things were a priority.”

Then in 2020, the COVID pandemic hit, and people were introduced to a much different way of grieving — with fewer family members, tiny gatherings, and perhaps no visitation or funeral at all.

A message from Camp Brookwood

Attention Brookwood campers ages 14-17

We are looking forward to training new future counsellors again this year as CITs (counsellors in training).
At Camp Brookwood we help CITs develop their skills and practices as young counsellors. As a CIT, you get to attend a couple days of training here at the camp along with the other staff and will be asked to come and work one of the weeks of camp this summer.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with the counsellors and gain hands-on counsellor experience with campers!

If you are interested in becoming a CIT at Camp Brookwood this summer, please express your interest by messaging the Camp Brookwood Facebook page.

Thanks and God bless!

Comic Relief!

A father had had a beard for many years, but one day decided to shave it off. He came into the room where his 5-year-old daughter was and asked her, "Notice anything different?"

"No," she said, with a puzzled look on her face.

"My beard's gone," said her dad.

The puzzled look quickly disappeared and the innocent eyes appeared when she said, "I didn't take it!"
