Lent without borders: subscribe today

When the pandemic forced churches to close to public worship, PWRDF began gathering its volunteers and supporters from across Canada on Zoom. Praying with PWRDF was a way to stay connected to our partners and their work, as well as to each other. “Praying with PWRDF sustained me,” wrote one online parishioner.

This Lent, we present a collection of our favourite reflections from partners and volunteers, with music, videos, PWRDF stories and more. Subscribe to receive a daily message in your inbox at pwrdf.org/Lent2023.

Comic Relief!

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six-year-olds. After explaining the commandment to "honor thy father and thy mother," she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?"

Without missing a beat, one little boy answered, "Thou shall not kill."
