There will be a Celebration of New (changed) Ministry for the Rev. Harold Boomer in the Parish of Andover and the Parish of Denmark, Sunday, Nov. 26 at 3 p.m., at Trinity, Perth-Andover. Synod treasurer Heather Harris-Jones has announced her resignation in order to take a position with York Care Centre, effective Nov. 24. Archbishop David Edwards and executive officer the Rev. David Peer join the synod staff in thanking Heather for her exemplary contributions over the last five and a half years. Recruiting efforts are underway. |

Advent RetreatScripture - A Doorway to Advent Hope, Peace and Action - Friday, December 8, 2023 Join friends from across the diocese and beyond for a 24-hour Advent breakaway. Our Advent Retreat, Scripture - A Doorway to Advent Hope, Peace, and Action, is open to anyone (Anglican or not) who is looking for a moment to pause and reflect on the true meaning of the season. Our retreat leader (teacher) is Fr. Bill Brennan. Bill was ordained for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saint John, NB in 1985 and over the years has always been involved with parish ministry and is presently the Pastor at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish (Hanwell/ McAdam/Kingsclear area). Advent Book StudyThe Meaning Is In The Waiting Need help entering the Advent season this year? Join the diocesan Advent book study. We'll be looking at Paula Gooder's, The Meaning is in the Waiting. The series starts on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, and runs for 4 sessions (until December 20, 2023) and will be held on Wednesday evenings at 6:30PM for 60-90mins. Free to join. Parish events
Thursday, Nov. 16, 2 p.m. St. Anne’s, Welshpool, Campobello Island, will host a Christmas tea and sale. Tea plates are $10, and will include sandwiches, sweets and fresh fruit. Take-outs are available. Donations of food, handicrafts or white elephant items are welcome. This event is sponsored by St. Anne’s Guild. Saturday, Nov. 18, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Christmas antique and vintage sale at All Saints Parish Hall, 75 King Street, St. Andrews. Multiple vendors in one location. Canteen available. Hosted by the Youth and Family Ministry Committee. Saturday, Nov. 18, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The ACW of St John the Baptist Anglican Church, 28 Woolridge St., Riverview, will hold a Christmas bazaar. Kitchen menu: cinnamon rolls, muffins, tea, coffee, soup, chili, rolls, pie slices. Shop for great gifts from the bake table, Country Corner preserves, crafts, jewellery, books, puzzles, games, Christmas room, silent auction. Please bring your own bags. Saturday, Nov. 25, 8-11 a.m. Breakfast fundraiser at the Orange Hall, Carroll’s Crossing (top of Stewart’s Hill). Menu: Pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, baked beans, toast, juice, tea and coffee. Cost is by donation. All proceeds will go to the breakfast programs at UMES, CNBA and DES. Hosted by the Anglican Parish of Ludlow and Blissfield. Saturday, Nov. 25, 1-3 p.m. The Parish of Cambridge-Waterborough is holding its annual Christmas Tea at Church of the Good Shepherd in Cambridge-Narrows. Tea, coffee, sandwiches and sweets will be served. Baked goods will also be for sale. We’d love to have you join us. Your free will offering will be gratefully accepted. Saturday, Nov. 25. 2-4 p.m. Chase McLean will lead a discussion on his recent pilgrimage to the Holy Land at the Old Town Hall in Florenceville. All are welcome to attend. |
