June 11 was a perfect weather day for a gathering: sunny but not too hot, with a light breeze to keep everyone comfortable. The gathering was the Retired Clergy Tea, a much-anticipated but newer tradition in the diocese.

Before the pandemic, the tea was usually held at Bishop’s Court, even when no one was living there. After it was sold, the tea was held at Christ Church Cathedral. But since the pandemic, the tea has been held at the Fredericton home of Archbishop David Edwards and his wife, Debbie.

Clergy anniversaries are recognized at 10 and 25 years and subsequent 5-year intervals.

Christ Church Cathedral’s annual Summer Music Series will return with nine noontime concerts, beginning 05 July.

The performances are designed to fit perfectly within the lunch hour: Fridays from 12:10-12:50 p.m., 05 July - 30 August. Free admission, donations encouraged. 

Featuring soloists and instruments such as piano, violin, cello, guitar, organ, fiddle and viola. Performers will receive an honorarium, and proceeds will support the Organ Renovation Fund.

Sunday, June 30, 2 p.m.  Memorial Service at St. John's Highfield, 562 Highfield Rd, Butternut Valley.  This service will honour and remember the saints who have gone before us. You are invited to bring a rose to lay on the altar in memory of a loved one. Music by Ivan & Vivian Hicks. Light refreshments. All welcome.  Contact the Rev. Founded in 1957, the Diocese of Fredericton Choir School has brought generations of Christians together through the beautiful spirit of music.

St. Michael’s is an annual conference in the Anglican tradition for youth aged 13–19. Together we pray, study, and play. Since 1987, St Michael’s has formed a vibrant community within the Anglican Church in the Maritimes. Our conference participants—or Michaelites!—don’t do things by half measures. When we worship, we worship God reverently in spirit and truth. When we study, we challenge ourselves to learn deeply. When we kick back for games and activities, we make sure that we have a blast.
