Got excess space? How about a daycare?. From the Archbishop's desk. Parish events

Anglican Diocese of Fredericton
eNews for December 9, 2025
Got excess space? How about a daycare?

Got excess space? How about a daycare?

Wondering what to do with that extra space your parish rarely uses? You might take some inspiration from two parishes whose extra hall space is now used for the care of children.

Both the Parish of Sussex and the Parish of Riverview now or will have childcare facilities in their excess space.
The Sussex Christian School opened their new daycare in the Trinity Church hall basement Nov. 28. Young Explorers plans to open an afterschool program in the basement of St. John the Baptist Church in Riverview Jan. 5.

Anglican Renewal Ministries is dedicated to bringing the life and power of the Holy Spirit to all Christians.

This year, 2025, ARM gives thanks to God for having served the Anglican Church of Canada for 40 years!  In addition to workshops on the person and gifts of the Holy Spirit, we also offer a quarterly magazine called “Taste and See…” with articles to uplift and encourage you in your walk with Christ.

We hope this magazine will be a source of encouragement to all.  Sample articles and a free copy of the magazine are available on our website.

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day, highlighting that violence against women is the most pervasive breach of human rights  worldwide.

The campaign was launched by activists at the inaugural Women's Global Leadership Institute in 1991, and has since mobilized individuals and organizations, including the United Nations and partners worldwide to advocate for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls (VAWG).

Suggestions for how to observe the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence
(from the Cathedral Branch of Mothers' Union and St. Paul's Hampton)

Lord, today we make a commitment to take a stand:
to say ‘no more 1 in 3’,
to use our eyes to see where change needs to be made,
to use our voices to challenge injustice in our world.
May we support people experiencing abuse,
enabling them to reach their full potential and may we call for change.
Amen.

A prayer for those working to end sexual and gender-based violence

May God bless us with insight to recognise violence in all its forms,
and courage to name it, speaking out for justice.
May the Lord Jesus bless us with compassion for the vulnerable,
and grace to stand with them, sharing his strength.
May the Holy Spirit bless us with a prayerful heart,
and power to breathe peace, transforming the world.
The blessing of the holy and glorious Trinity,
eternal Wisdom, living Word, abiding Spirit,
be among us and remain with us always.
Amen.
(With thanks to the Anglican Church of Australia)
