Christmas is all about the love of God

As I write this it is unclear where I will be celebrating Christmas this year. 

Yesterday I received the news that my dad has been taken into hospital in England. It seems that he is having an issue with his heart or blood pressure or both. It is essential at some point in the next few days that I travel to the UK to see him and to fully understand what is happening.

We’re hiring

Job title:  Church organist
Location:  Anglican Parish of St. Andrews, Saint Andrews, NB.
Job type:  Permanent part-time
Reports to:  Rector
Overview:  The Anglican Parish of St. Andrews, a vibrant parish within the Town of Saint Andrews, is seeking a Church Organist to support the musical life of the Parish.
Key Responsibilities:
· Accompany weekly Sunday services and other special services throughout the church year.
· Accompany weekly choir rehearsals.
· Collaborate weekly with the rector (priest-in-charge) on the music selection for services
· Optional accompaniment for weddings, funerals, baptisms by separate agreement with the families
· Maintain a high standard of organ performance, supporting congregational singing and choral repertoire.
Qualifications:
· Proficiency in playing the organ
· Ability to play the piano considered an asset
· Experience accompanying choirs in a liturgical setting
· Flexibility, reliability, and a spirit of collaboration
· Degrees in music or performance certificates and familiarity with the Anglican music tradition are considered an asset but not required.

Comic Relief!

The Sunday School Christmas play was in full swing. The pastor asked, "What was it that guided the wise men from the East?"

Right on cue, the pre-schoolers, each with one large letter in their hands, turned the letters to face the audience.

Somehow, the last four kids had gotten out of sequence, and the answer shown in big letters was:
