Advent RetreatFriday, December 13, 2024 **Registration deadline is tomorrow (Dec 4)** Join friends from across the diocese and beyond for a 24-hour Advent breakaway. Our Advent Retreat is open to anyone (Anglican or not) looking for a moment to pause and reflect on the season's true meaning. Retreat theme: 'Meditations on Mary' Our retreat leader (teacher) is Bishop Sandra Fyfe. Bishop Sandra is the 17th diocesan bishop of the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, having been elected and consecrated to that role in 2020. Before that, she served as rector of the Parish of Horton (Wolfville NS). She is a gifted retreat leader who has led various Atlantic retreats. All are welcome - pre-registration is required. Stewardship Study
The Dean of Fredericton invites you to consider a study series on the topic of Christian stewardship beginning early in 2025. Seven or eight study sessions in a local learning group will explore the components of Time, Talent, Trust, Treasure, Terrain, Theology, and Thanks by way of a distance education opportunity through Atlantic School of Theology.

Friday, Dec. 6, 5-9 p.m. Uptown Sparkles – Trinity Saint John will have their huge red doors open for all to come in and enjoy the sounds of the season along with a cup of hot chocolate and a sweet. Come and take the time to enjoy the beauty of the 1880 Gothic Trinity and sit back in the comfortably cushioned pews. Saturday, Dec. 7, 11 a.m. Christmas lunch and bake sale at St. Paul’s, Rothesay. Christmas décor, baked goods, jams and preserves. Tickets are $15, contact the parish office at 506-847-1812. Saturday, Dec. 7, 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Annual Christmas Tea at the Kingston Parish Hall. We will also have a new-to-you Christmas table (items can be dropped off to the Parish Office anytime). The ACW will have a bake table. Also, on that same day please drop into the MacDonald Consolidated School Annual Christmas Stop and Shop, beginning at 10 a.m., and Fullerton’s Corner Market for their Annual Christmas Sale, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Chiming & Timing Appreciation Gala at Trinity Saint John. Join us for the finale of the one-year fundraising project, which includes the latest technology to upgrade both the steeple tower city clock and the 12-bell carillon. We look forward to seeing one and all as we collectively say thank you to so many who made this project such an overwhelming success. Saturday, Dec. 14, 11a.m.-3 p.m. Anglican Church of the Ascension, 2980 Route 121, Apohaqui, will hold an Open House. Drop by and see our historic 152-year-old church fully decorated for the Christmas season. Enjoy a cup of mulled cider and some sweet treats while you relax and take in the beauty of the season. Sunday, December 15, 7 p.m. "Christmas at Camp Medley," an ecumenical service of Carols and Lessons in the (unheated) Camp Medley chapel followed by hot cider and cookies in the (heated) dining hall. Bring your singing voices, warm clothes and a blanket! Special guest musicians Sidney Murgatroyd and Conrad Levesque. Sunday, Dec. 17, 7 p.m. Trinity Saint John, through Spencer Belyea, will present Handel’s Messiah. There is no more beautiful setting than Trinity to sit back and enjoy the wonderful evening of music. The acoustics are second to none. Tickets available at the door.
