Thursday, Dec. 12, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Chiming & Timing Appreciation Gala at Trinity Saint John. Join us for the finale of the one-year fundraising project, which includes the latest technology to upgrade both the steeple tower city clock and the 12-bell carillon. We look forward to seeing one and all as we collectively say thank you to so many who made this project such an overwhelming success. Saturday, Dec. 14, 11a.m.-3 p.m. Anglican Church of the Ascension, 2980 Route 121, Apohaqui, will hold an Open House. Drop by and see our historic 152-year-old church fully decorated for the Christmas season. Enjoy a cup of mulled cider and some sweet treats while you relax and take in the beauty of the season. Sunday, December 15, 7 p.m. "Christmas at Camp Medley," an ecumenical service of Carols and Lessons in the (unheated) Camp Medley chapel followed by hot cider and cookies in the (heated) dining hall. Bring your singing voices, warm clothes and a blanket! Special guest musicians Sidney Murgatroyd and Conrad Levesque. Sunday, Dec. 17, 7 p.m. Trinity Saint John, through Spencer Belyea, will present Handel’s Messiah. There is no more beautiful setting than Trinity to sit back and enjoy the wonderful evening of music. The acoustics are second to none. Tickets available at the door. Saturday, Dec. 21 The Living Manger, now in its 31st year, will once again leave audiences in awe of the Christmas story, at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, 4 Needle St., Sussex Corner. Performances at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Refreshments after the 6:30 performance. All are welcome, dress warmly. Offering for a worthy community cause. Storm date of Dec. 22. This is a joint presentation of the Parishes of Waterford, St. Mark's and Sussex. |

Our Advent Retreat is open to anyone (Anglican or not) looking for a moment to pause and reflect on the season's true meaning. Retreat theme: 'Meditations on Mary' Our retreat leader (teacher) is Bishop Sandra Fyfe. Bishop Sandra is the 17th diocesan bishop of the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, having been elected and consecrated to that role in 2020. Before that, she served as rector of the Parish of Horton (Wolfville NS). She is a gifted retreat leader and has led a variety of retreats across the Atlantic provinces. All are welcome - pre-registration is required. Costs - Overnight: $140 | Couples: $215 | Commuter: $95 (meals included) Registration deadline is December 4, 2024; spaces are limited.
