My Journey Here — Judith Moses. From the Archbishop's desk. A note from Debbie Edwards

Anglican Diocese of Fredericton
eNews for April 15, 2025
My Journey Here — Judith Moses

My Journey Here — Judith Moses

It was the pandemic that convinced Judith Moses that living in St. Andrews was the right move for her and her husband, Peter Lyman.

Peter was born in St. Andrews, and the couple had a home there they used each summer. But when lock-down forced everyone into new circumstances, Judith, Peter and their grown son sought refuge there.

“Then I asked myself, ‘why aren’t we living here?’ We were living in Toronto,” said Judith.

Pathways to Peace retreat

June 6-8

The Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island is hosting a retreat, and the invitation is open! It will be June 6 to June 8, and features a deep dive on spiritual disciplines, especially the quieter approaches to listening prayer.

Pathways to Peace is hosted on the beautifully landscaped campus of Acadia University in Wolfville, N.S. It is a three-day oasis of quiet, devotional practices and growing friendships. Specially designed for laity, clergy are warmly invited too.

Attending a retreat can provide spiritual renewal through dedicated time for prayer and reflection. A weekend like this can be a valuable opportunity to recharge, gain clarity, and find a sense of balance amidst your busy life. This is a gift for those who give so much to others.

Short talks will be given by a variety of voices on how to pray, various creative and engaging approaches to prayer. If weather permits, we will have ‘wild worship’ in a beautiful outdoor setting. There will be plenty of time for silence and walking.

Registration includes five meals (Friday dinner to Sunday breakfast), two nights' accommodations, free parking, retreat program and materials.

EARLY REGISTRATION:   $160 / person until April 28.
Late Registration is $180, closing May 20.
Ticket options include single, private rooms. There are also double rooms.
Those staying off-site - $110.

To register, click here.
Or visit the retreat page.

Camp Medley 80th Anniversary Celebration

Camp Medley 80th Anniversary Celebration

When you turn 80 years old, there ought to be a big celebration. That’s what’s planned for Camp Medley, the diocesan camp which opened in 1945 as a place for kids to get out of the cities and back to fresh air and nature. Everyone is invited, especially those with a link to the camp.

The day will include a worship service, live music, memorabilia, food, tours and more. Accommodations will be available for those needing or wanting to stay the night.

If readers have any memorabilia from camp — crafts, photos, t-shirts — they’d like to show off, they’re asked to contact John (director@campmedley.ca). As well, if readers have stories from camp they’d like to share, please send them to this address:  friends@campmedley.ca.
