Celtic spirituality scholar visits Cathedral

He describes himself as a wandering teacher, and on May 7, Dr. John Philip Newell was at Christ Church Cathedral teaching about 120 people in person and another 140 online about the sacredness of earth and its inhabitants.

He is an internationally celebrated teacher and author whose message is one of Celtic spirituality: a call for us to recognize and embrace the sacredness of Earth and every human being in it.

Sunday, June 8, 3:30 p.m.   Annual Founders Day ecumenical church service and potluck at the Welsh Chapel, located in Cardigan, NB – 2900 Cardigan Road, Route 620. This event celebrates the day the Cardigan settlers arrived in New Brunswick in 1819. Donations to the Welsh Heritage Trust are collected at the service. Saturday, June 14, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.  Waterford Meet & Greet. The Parish of Waterford will host a community gathering at the Waterford Community Hall, with a free barbecue. Come and get to know your neighbours, local businesses and community groups.

Do you love history and enjoy meeting new people? Apply for a summer job as a tour guide at Christ Church Cathedral in Fredericton! 

We are seeking a part-time bilingual tour guide to work alongside our lead tour guide, providing a warm welcome and excellent hospitality to visitors and locals.

Tuesday, June 3:  Talking Tuesday Special 2 p.m. @ the rectory, Richmond Corner, celebrating the 10th anniversary of TYC Global
Wednesday, June 4, 6-7pm:  St Luke's Church, Woodstock, An hour of prayer for the world with music and short reflections on The Lord’s Prayer. 
All are welcome.

HAMMOND RIVER EVENT
Saturday June 7, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.   Prayer vigil for world peace at Holy Trinity Church, 2 Hammond River Rd., Quispamsis. Please join us as we pray for the people of world surrounded by war and conflict. The church will be open from 11 am to 3 pm for a time of quiet prayer. Drop in. Rogation Sunday

Rogation Sunday

Sunday, June 15, 2025

Rogation Sunday will see the vicar of Kings Landing, the Rev. Canon Walter Williams, lead a procession around the village as he asks God's blessing on various aspects of farm life — the animals, the fields, the plough, the water and so on. 

The service begins at St. Mark's Chapel of Ease. It is a 15-minute walk from the Kings Landing welcome centre to the chapel, and there is also a horse and wagon, subject to availability. 

All are welcome. Admission is free for those attending this service. 

Take exit 253 off Route 2 and follow the signs. 

NOTE:  There is an afternoon service every Sunday at St. Mark's from June 8 to Thanksgiving. All are welcome, and admission is free for those attending the service.

Diocesan Choir School

Children aged 8 - 18 are invited to join us for a week-long choral camp filled with singing, learning, friendship and fun, culminating, as usual, with a glorious and beautiful Choral Evensong. Adults are invited to join us for the latter half of the week!

Founded in 1957, the Diocese of Fredericton Choir School has brought generations of Christians together through the beautiful spirit of music.
