Archbishop Shane Parker calls Christians to make God's love and grace known in their communities

Archbishop Shane Parker, Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, preached at Christ Church Cathedral in Fredericton on Sunday, Sept. 27, as part of a week-long visit to the Diocese of Fredericton that included visits to churches, ministries, the clergy conference and Diocesan Council.

Saturday, Oct. 24,  Homemade baked bean takeout at Holy Trinity Hammond River. Proceeds to go to the Joshua Group building fund. Pick-up times from  11 a.m. - 1 p.m at 2 Hammond River Road. Meals include Boston baked beans, brown bread or roll and delicious apple crisp for dessert (with apples from the Kennebecasis Apple Orchard). Cost is $10. Oct. 26-30  Trinity Anglican Church in the Parish of Sussex will hold its annual online auction this October.  Parish donations will be listed for bidding, and the community is always very generous with their bids. All funds raised go back to the community through various charities.

Beginning Saturday, Oct. 31 / 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Holy Trinity Hammond River is hosting a 5-week Dementia Care Program for Care Partners with Angela King, MTS, ARCT. The program is designed to equip care partners and family members supporting older adults living with dementia or other forms of brain change. The program begins on Saturday, Oct. 31 (lunch included) and subsequent dates will be on Tuesdays (Nov. 3, 10, 17, and 24) from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Meetings will be held at Holy Trinity Church, 2 Hammond River Rd, Quispamsis, NB. Pre-register by calling (506) 647-8170.

Saturday, Nov. 14 / 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Christ Church Parish Church in Fredericton will be hosting a Christmas Bazaar featuring Christmas cooking, crafts, clothing, books, new-to-you and Christmas cafe. The event will take place at 245 Westmorland Street, Fredericton, NB. Cash only.

, Stone Church will be hosting its Fourth Annual Fundraising Gala. Join us in preserving the building that helps us be God's hands and feet in supporting the under-housed and un-housed, seniors and youth in Saint John. Synod staff members are pleased to offer the Synod Commons - a regular open forum online for clergy, parish lay officers and staff, and others who are interested.

Session topics will be announced in advance. Each session will typically include a presentation and time for questions (on the topic and, if time, on any topic). Sessions will be held from 12:10 - 12:55 pm and will be recorded.

It's a busy Fall for the Synod Office so we will host the Commons on the last Tuesday of each of September, October and November.

Vacancies at Farraline Place

Vacancies at Farraline Place

Farraline Place is next to the NB Legislature on Queen Street. It has 19 private bedrooms and one respite room. Some rooms have a private bath, and some are furnished. The rental price varies.

The residence is for independent seniors in reasonably good health who might need some supports.

The home offers all meals cooked onsite, plus weekly housekeeping and laundry services.

Residents enjoy daily activities, including exercise and bingo. Holidays and events are celebrated with parties and services. Dean Geoffrey Hall offers a monthly communion service. 

Currently, the home had several vacant rooms and an empty respite room. It also was seeking a full-time cook.
