Update from Archbishop David in the UK
Archbishop David's father, Jack, has been released from hospital and is getting follow-up visits from extra-mural staff. Jack continues to have vision issues that began when he was hospitalized. David said he needs eye surgery ASAP. "Thanks, everyone, for your prayers," he said. Continued prayers are certainly welcome.

If you are struggling this Christmas with grief, pain or loss, you are invited to gather together. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 12:10 p.m. Advent Series of Music & Message: Finding the Light in the Darkness of December, Christ Church (Parish Church), 245 Westmorland St., Fredericton. This event will feature music by Alice Boyd, Justine Everett and Douglas Vipond, with message by retired Bishop Bill Hockin. Saturday, Dec. 20, 6:30 p.m. Illumination, a presentation to celebrate light, hope and faith with an interactive presentation of the Nativity story featuring music and lights. St. Mark’s, 4 Needle Street, Sussex Corner. Come dressed for the outside, bring a chair and your singing voice. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. All are welcome! Free-will offering for the Sussex Sharing Club. Storm date is Dec. 21 at 6:30. Sunday, Dec. 21, 7 p.m. Blue Christmas service on the longest night of the year. Farraline Place news
Farraline Place, the ACW-affiliated seniors’ home in downtown Fredericton, has new leadership. Chelsie Odgen has been hired as the director of care and operations, replacing Judy O’Donnell, who retired. The home has two room vacancies and a vacant respite care room. Farraline Place is also seeking a casual cook with up to full-time hours.
