Medley pool project gets a boost, but it needs your help!

Medley pool project gets a boost, but it needs your help!

Matching campaign will run to the end of the year

Fundraising for the new pool and maintenance facility at Camp Medley has taken on some urgency, but for a good reason.

The J.T. Clark Family Foundation, once associated with the Clark auto dealerships that were prominent in New Brunswick for a century, has made the camp a matching offer.

Urgent Prayer Request

Over the weekend, Archbishop David’s father, Jack, who lives in the UK, was admitted to hospital. He suffered a stroke and has also been diagnosed with lung cancer. He remains in hospital. He is 98.

As a result, and on the advice of hospital staff, David has changed his plan to travel to Ghana to attend the consecration of the coadjutor bishop of Ho, and instead, he and Debbie are flying to England today (Tuesday).

Please pray for Jack and his outcome, and for David and Debbie as they travel and deal with this distressing situation.

As well, please pray for Bishop Matthias and Coadjutor Bishop-elect Selorm as he is consecrated to the order of bishops on Saturday.

From the archbishop's desk

The Rev. Canon Chris Hayes has been appointed as Bishop’s Commissary for the Diocese of Fredericton, effective Aug. 10.

St. Michael's Youth Conference - Maritimes

St. Michael's Youth Conference - Maritimes

It all happens next week! Aug. 17-22

St. Michael’s is an annual conference in the Anglican tradition for youth aged 13–19. Together we pray, study, and play. Since 1987, St Michael’s has formed a vibrant community within the Anglican Church in the Maritimes. Our conference participants—or Michaelites!—don’t do things by half measures. When we worship, we worship God reverently in spirit and truth. When we study, we challenge ourselves to learn deeply. When we kick back for games and activities, we make sure that we have a blast.

Kings Landing summer services

Kings Landing summer services

Services at Kings Landing Historical Settlement take place at the Prince William School near the main entrance this summer.

Evening Prayer services will be held there each Sunday at 2 p.m. because of infrastructure upgrades that have closed the other side of the village, including St. Mark’s Chapel of Ease. Construction is supposed to be complete by September, so services will hopefully return to St. Mark's.

Visitors and officiating clergy should come in the main entrance. As always, there is no admission fee to attend the service. Any questions should be sent to Canon Walter Williams at goodolpadre@hotmail.ca.

For those wanting to lead a service, consult the sign-up sheet here.
Sept. 6 and Sept. 20 are still open.

Directions: take Route 2 (Trans-Canada Highway) to exit 253 and follow the signs. Or for a scenic drive, take Route 102 along the beautiful St. John River and follow the signs. Kings Landing is about 20 minutes up river from Fredericton.
