Diocesan Choir School: An intergenerational approach. Submit your photos for the 2028 Canadian Church Calendar. Godly Play Training

Diocesan Choir School: An intergenerational approach

Diocesan Choir School: An intergenerational approach

Unlike many church events these days, the participants at Diocesan Choir School were not exclusively a sea of grey heads.

The directors were a university student and a senior citizen. The music leaders were both younger and older. The choristers’ ages ranged from 15 to people in their 90s.

The common thread at Diocesan Choir School is a love of singing, and that is not limited by age.

Submit your photos for the 2028 Canadian Church Calendar

Parish life is often busy and vibrant. A summer campfire service, a fellowship meal, faces at the door — these moments are worth sharing. Dioceses, parishes and individuals are invited to submit photos for the 2028 Canadian Church Calendar, including a brief description and photographer credit.

Find more information here.

Kings Landing summer services

Kings Landing summer services

Services at Kings Landing Historical Settlement take place at the Prince William School near the main entrance this summer.

Evening Prayer services will be held there each Sunday at 2 p.m. because of infrastructure upgrades that have closed the other side of the village, including St. Mark’s Chapel of Ease. Construction is supposed to be complete by September, so services will return to St. Mark's.

Visitors and officiating clergy should come in the main entrance. As always, there is no admission fee to attend the service. Any questions should be sent to Canon Walter Williams at goodolpadre@hotmail.ca.

For those wanting to lead a service, consult the sign-up sheet here.

There are still openings for September.

Directions: take Route 2 (Trans-Canada Highway) to exit 253 and follow the signs. Or for a scenic drive, take Route 102 along the beautiful St. John River and follow the signs. Kings Landing is about 20 minutes up river from Fredericton.

St. Michael's Youth Conference - Maritimes

St. Michael's Youth Conference - Maritimes

Aug. 17-22

St. Michael’s is an annual conference in the Anglican tradition for youth aged 13–19. Together we pray, study, and play. Since 1987, St Michael’s has formed a vibrant community within the Anglican Church in the Maritimes. Our conference participants—or Michaelites!—don’t do things by half measures. When we worship, we worship God reverently in spirit and truth. When we study, we challenge ourselves to learn deeply. When we kick back for games and activities, we make sure that we have a blast.
