Today has been both challenging and enjoyable. We walked about 20 kms and this afternoon the temperature felt quite high. That was not too bad when we were walking along the rail bed, but it became more so when we had to climb up to Keswick Ridge. It was not as demanding as the hill in Stanley yesterday, but it took a great deal of doing at the end of a long day.

Part of the joy was the hospitality we enjoyed in the Parish of Bright. We had a tremendous lunch and supper. In addition we were invited into peoples' homes along the way. We were also able to say our prayers in three different venues.

One thing challenged more than anything else today and it was not anything to do with physical exertion. At this evening's service we had a young boy. He came with his grandparents with whom we had supper. I had struck up a little rapport with him and we fooled around with a soccer ball. As we went through the service this evening I could see that all he wanted to do was leave. I could not think of a way to engage with him in that environment. Such moments leave me sad.
