Archbishop David adds the following:

As we all know we are well into Level 3 of the provincial COVID-19 Winter Plan. Many of us are feeling the frustration of the length of time that has passed with us being in a pandemic.
It has become clear that many of those who work in the caring professions and in other jobs which keep us going are becoming exhausted. We know that many are infected themselves and others are having to do extra shifts in order to cover. The issues are in places ranging from hospitals to supermarkets.
I know that many of us are giving people we know a word of encouragement and offering practical help such as the preparation of meals. Parishes have also responded to the situation. One has asked members of the congregation to write messages of support for people in their local hospital and printed them on a card to send. In addition, they have also discovered a need to replace some items in the staff break room and are sending these. Another parish is looking at doing a similar thing at one of the larger hospitals, helping a particular ward.
On Wednesday, January 26 at 7:00pm, I am asking that we intentionally join in prayer for people who are under particular pressure at this time. If you cannot join that evening at 7:00pm, please intentionally pray at some point during the day.
