The Bishop of Fredericton seeks to appoint a priest and incumbent to the Parish of Lancaster in the Diocese of Fredericton.
The Anglican Parish of Lancaster covers what is known as the West Side of the City of Saint John, a primarily residential and diverse community, parts of which date to the 19th century, and close to the Bay of Fundy as well as the city centre.
The parish has one church building, named the Church of the Good Shepherd, which includes a large worship space and lots of gathering spaces of various sizes, including a commercial kitchen. The rectory is a well-appointed two-story home located approximately a kilometre from the church building.
The main Sunday service is a Family Eucharist, alternating between the Book of Common Prayer and the Book of Alternative Services, with organist and choir to lead music. The parish members are seeking someone to help them explore new ways to grow in their spiritual journey and to forge deeper connections with the “West Side” community.
Please include the following in an expression of interest.
Clergy from outside the diocese should confirm that they have their bishop’s permission to explore a possible appointment outside of their own diocese. A confidential reference may also be requested from your diocesan bishop and in addition to other references.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a valid criminal record and vulnerable sector check and may be required to authorize a credit check.
Contact the bishop's office for a more detailed parish profile.
