The New Brunswick-Nova Scotia border was the backdrop for this year’s Diocesan ACW Quiet Day, held at St. Mark’s, Mt. Whatley, Aulac on Sept. 10.

The Rev. Canon Kevin Stockall led the service of Holy Eucharist, with organist Sharon Cole and layreader Julia Lockwood. Darlene Hicks, Linda Fury and Julia were readers. In attendance were 26 ACW members from various parishes.

The Ven. John Matheson’s term as Archdeacon of St. Andrews has been extended by one year, to Oct. 13, 2026.

Sunday, Oct. 19, 2 p.m.  Michael Molloy will give an organ recital on Trinity Saint John’s recently installed Phoenix Digital Organ. A screen will be installed to enable the audience to see this renowned Saint John organist as he plays a one-hour program of sacred music. Cost is $20. This is a fundraiser for Trinity Saint John’s great east window.

What is a Mixed Ecology Church?

A Mixed Ecology Church is the place where traditional church and emerging forms of Christian community coexist side by side, seeking mutual flourishing. The goal of a Mixed Ecology church is to thrive together, for the sake of connecting diverse groups of people with Jesus’ liberating gospel, in ways that they couldn’t do alone.

Ed is Director of Innovation and Development at St Mellitus College. He was ordained in 2004 and has ministered in a wide variety of roles including; as a West End Theatre Chaplain, a Training Incumbent and most recently as National Adviser for Pioneer Ministry for the Church of England. Ed is a creative, a trained coach and is interested in the relationship between faith and culture. He loves to think outside the box and to pioneer new things.

You’ll hear real stories of discernment, have time to reflect, ask the big questions and pray together.

Synod staff members are pleased to begin offering the Synod Commons - a regular open forum online for clergy, parish lay officers and staff, and others who are interested.

Session topics will be announced in advance. Each session will typically include a presentation and time for questions (on the topic and if time, on any topic). Sessions will be held on Tuesdays from 12:10 - 12:55 pm and will be recorded. 

For the rest of this calendar year we will begin with one session per month on the 1st Tuesday.
