Cathy joined the Diocean Synod office in December 2014 as Executive Archdeacon and Secretary of Synod. In July of 2019 she was appointed Episcopal Archdeacon with the primary ministry of providing support and pastoral care to both active and retired clergy, their spouses and families and clergy widows and widowers. She is also the primary contact for the discernment process of those seeking ordination and well as formation. Cathy supports the diocesan bishop in his/her work as it pertains to theological education, clergy gatherings and clergy/parish situations requiring assistance. She serves as a member of the Diocesan Council.
Cathy received her BSc.Eng. (Mechanical) from the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton and her M.Div. (Honours) from Queen's College, NL. She was ordained deacon and priest in 2006 and has served in the Anglican Parishes of Pictou County, Heart's Content and Shediac (sharing in ministry with the Parish of Kent) Co-Rector, Rector, Associate Priest and Coordinator of the Parish as a Community of Faith, respectively.
Cathy lives in Quispamsis in the traditional territory of the Wolastoqiyik / Wəlastəkewiyik / Maliseet and Mi’kmaq / Mi’kmaw. She enjoys riding her Honda Shadow which reminds her of the importance of constantly leaning into God. Connecting with her four great nieces and nephews enables her to welcome all the childlike qualities that reflect an innate sense of the presence of God within one's life. During 2019 to 2022, Cathy completed the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises and is currently exploring becoming part of a Christian Life Community small group.
