Join PWRDF/Alongside Hope staff and friends for a time of prayer and reflection for the partners, volunteers and staff of PWRDF (name changing to Alongside Hope), monthly on the second Thursday at 2:00 pm (Atlantic), followed by a virtual coffee time.

April's reflector will be Acting Primate, Archbishop Anne Germond.

The Most Reverend Anne Germond was elected Bishop of Algoma in 2016 and consecrated the following year, becoming the first woman to serve in this capacity. In the fall of 2018, Archbishop Anne was elected the 19th Metropolitan for the Ecclesiastical Province of Ontario. In this role she also serves as the Archbishop for the Diocese of Moosonee which is a mission area of the Province. In September 2024 she became Acting Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada. Archbishop Anne grew up in South Africa and graduated from the Johannesburg College of Education in the late 1970s. In 1986, she and her husband, Colin, moved to Canada. Locally raised in the church, she was called to ordered ministry, becoming a deacon in 2001 and a presbyter in 2002. She and Colin live in Sault Ste. Marie. They have two grown children, Caitlin and Richard, and one golden retriever, Rosie. During the pandemic Archbishop Anne discovered the joys of gardening at her cottage and looks forward to more summers of growing vegetables and watching the flowers bloom. Her motto for 2025 is: “With joy you will drink deeply from the fountain of salvation.” (Isaiah 12:3)
