The Season of Creation is held annually from September 1, the Global Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation to October 4, St Francis of Assisi Day. It is a time to renew our relationship with our Creator and all creation through repenting, repairing, and rejoicing together. During the Season of Creation, we join our sisters and brothers in the ecumenical family in prayer and action for our common home.
The burning bush is the symbol for the Season of Creation 2022. Wild fires are one of the devastating impacts of climate change on the most vulnerable of our planet. But the fire that called to Moses did not consume or destroy the bush. The flame revealed God’s presence. This symbol of God’s Spirit calls us to listen to the voice of creation.
