If so, the Diocese of Fredericton is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant for the Bishop’s Office.

Position Details:

The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, discretion, strong teamwork, and excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel) and experience with databases. Applicants should be flexible, tactful, well-organized, and thorough, with experience in event planning and hospitality.

The Diocese will rely on your calm, professional, and confidential approach in handling visitors and sensitive information. Previous administrative assistant experience is required. Familiarity with the structure and vocabulary of the Anglican Church of Canada is considered an asset, or a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for the diocesan Bishop’s Office.
  • Perform receptionist duties for the Bishop’s Office, including answering enquiries and screening calls.
  • Oversee the calendars and arrange appointments for the Diocesan Bishop and Director of Mission and Ministry.
  • Prepare responses to enquiries made by email, phone, or written correspondence.
  • Interact professionally and confidentially with clergy and parish leadership.
  • Provide hospitality for meetings and gatherings.
  • Make travel arrangements.
  • Coordinate the logistics and provide support for a variety of annual and occasional events, including some high-profile events. This includes preparing online registration, arranging catering and reservations.
  • Maintain both hard copy and electronic files and records. Ensure that database and website information is up to date and accurate.
  • Monitor all clergy appointments and moves. Distribute information, update records, and track leaves of absence.
  • Assist the Director of Mission and Ministry with administrative support of candidates for ministry and vocations.
  • Prepare and distribute clergy licenses and other forms of official documentation.
  • Provide administrative support to some committees connected to the Bishop’s Office.

The full-time Bishop’s Office Assistant will be eligible to participate in the pension and benefit plans of the Diocese. The salary range starts at $36,000.00 - 40,000.00, depending on background and experience. If you are interested in this position, please apply by May 22nd.
