Discipleship is learning to live the way God wants us to live. It is all about following Jesus and learning to live by the wisdom of His Word. When Jesus called His first disciples, the plan was to spend time together with Him (Mark 3:14) and learn from Him. They were called to follow and learn from Him.
As a diocese, we believe that part of growing together involves growing in our knowledge and love of God. All are encouraged to be involved in regular study, discussion and reflection as we focus on being 'followers of Jesus sharing hope and help in our communities and beyond.'

Surprised by the Spirit is a new initiative of the national church to connect Anglicans across the country in conversation, prayer and discovery. Archbishop and Primate Linda Nicholls invites us to gather over the next five months for conversation, in parish, clericus, deanery and committee groups. A guide to lead the conversation through prayer, scripture reflection and stories has been provided. Conversation groups are then asked to capture their "spark", which will include a learning, a question and a hope, in some form of media to be shared through the national website and gathered into a celebration for Thanksgiving 2021. In addition, within this diocese, we recommend this opportunity be used to prayerfully consider what the Spirit is inviting us to set aside and what to pick up.
